Sin

E-mail Print PDF

All stand guilty before God

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)

"Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Psalm 51:5)

"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe." (Galations 3:22)

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." (James 4:17)

The consequences of sin are death and eternal judgement

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

"Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming:" (Isaiah 14:9)

The Lord Jesus Christ was made sin for us

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

"Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin..." (Isaiah 53:10)

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:28)

"And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God" (Hebrews 10:11-12)

The promise of God to all who put their faith in the Lord Jesus

"And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more" (Hebrews 10:17)
